A man in his 50s was attacked by a crocodile while holidaying in Far North Queensland yesterday.
The man was snorkelling with a tourist group about 28 kilometres off Haggerstone Island when a crocodile attacked at 2pm.
He received serious injuries including cuts and bruises to his face from the attack.
The tourist group, full of Brisbane locals, managed to get the man back onto the boat and then to the mainland, where they managed to stop the bleeding.
He was airlifted to Thursday Island Hospital in a stable condition and in good spirits.
Haggerstone Island is 600km away from Cairns.
